Everyone knows college is the best place to meet new people. For our lovely Poffie Bride, Jessica, this is where she met her soul mate. Jessica and Tyler were both members of sorority and fraternity life at East Carolina University. Thrown into a very active social life, Tyler and Jessica ended up meeting at one of their sorority/fraternity events. Jessica decided to volunteer to participate in a game of intermural flag football. After making a “nice run”, her coach, Tyler was drawn in. From this point on, Jessica was always on his mind. They continued to mingle at their organization’s events, and the rest was history! The couple dated for five years before they got married.
As for the big proposal, it all started with a hike up Crowder’s Mountain. When they reached the top, Tyler popped the big question. Jessica says this was perfect, because it was a private area with only a few people around. (We couldn’t agree more!) After hiking back down, the two drove to Jessica’s parent’s house to share the exciting news.
The couple was wedded on November 5th, 2016 in Asheville, North Carolina at the Crest Center. Luckily, it was a beautiful fall day, perfect for an outdoor wedding. They had their first dance to “Whatever It Is” by Zac Brown Band. As for their honeymoon, they vacationed in Cabo San Lucas. We are super jealous!!
Jessica wore a truly stunning gown by Maggie Sottero. She actually added the beaded belt, by Justin Alexander, to her dress. We think this complimented the sweetheart neckline and lace perfectly! To add to the already flawless look, she wore a beaded, fingertip length veil. We all so proud to say that her entire wedding look came from Poffie Girls! Even the crinoline skirt to make the dress more of a mermaid look
Looking back on the planning process and the big day, Jessica says her favorite aspect of the wedding was having all of her friends and family all under one roof. Sharing the feeling of being married, surrounded by the ones you love is exhilarating! As for advice for other brides-to-be, Jessica says to celebrate every step in the planning process. Every accomplishment deserves to be recognized! Tyler’s advice to others would be to stay calm and keep your fiancée calm throughout the entire process. Smart man, Tyler!! Now settled into marriage, the couple loves to grab a drink at new spots they have never tried before.
Tyler and Jessica, we are so happy to of been part of your big day! Thank you from the entire Poffie Team for letting us assist you throughout the planning process. We wish you the best of luck within married life! <3 <3 <3
