Poffe Girls bride Stephanie has warmed our hearts with her and new hubby Justin’s fiery love story.
The two met in 2012 when Stephanie was working at Gaston County Dispatch. She is now a dispatcher at Charlotte Fire and Justin is a Fire Captain with the Mount Holly Fire Department. They were a couple for almost four years before getting engaged. They both are passionate about their careers and serving others and their three fur kids…- Chief, Halligan, and Arsyn.
Love, romance and tradition was Justin’s plan for the engagement July 2015, in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, where they take a yearly photo. Little did Stephanie know, but Justin had something else in store. Nervous, as Justin was getting out of the truck, he dropped the ring box with the ring in it. Thankfully, Stephanie did not see this. Because the ring box had been dropped, the ring had come loose from the slot. When Justin opened the box to propose the ring fell out into the grass. Most of the photos taken of the proposal are of Stephanie laughing as Justin searches the grass for the missing ring. Finally finding it, the two sealed the deal as onlookers honked as they drove by.
On September 10th of 2016, Stephanie and Justin became married on the farm where she grew up. She wore a beautiful two piece designer Justin Alexander wedding gown, she fell in love with at Poffie Girls. , Stephanie is a long time Poffie Girls as she also shopped with us for her prom dress. The wedding was perfection and Stephanie says her favorite aspect from the big day was hearing her husband read his handwritten vows, and their first dance which was to the song “More of you” by Chris Stapleton.
After the wedding, the hot happy couple went on a Carnival cruise to Cozumel and the Cayman Islands.
Stephanie has said that their favorite date night is staying in and snuggling up on the couch. Because of Justin’s work at the fire department, they don’t have very many date nights so staying home is something special to them to keep the sparks alive!
As for advice for brides to be, Stephanie says to; always be nice to your mother, also it is important to take it all in because it will be over before you know it and to make sure your photographer takes lots of pictures to capture the big day. Her last words of advice are for grooms to be, she advises for them to practice saying “Yes hunny, I love it”.
Brittany and Justin met in 2008 while working at Circuit City. Brittany had a crush on Justin. He was a supervisor and dating employees was not allowed, so they kept their relationship a secret from co- workers for about 5 months (until Circuit City closed). They were together for 8 years, and their wedding day was on their 8 year “dating” anniversary. In those 8 years Brittany and Justin moved from Gastonia to West Palm Beach Florida, and back to Gastonia, where they bought their first home. They became best friends- which is their favorite thing about their relationship. Brittany and Justin have two adorable dogs who are their kids.

What was your favorite aspect of your wedding day? It had to be our ceremony music and our UNC Chapel Hill theme. Every bit of music was specifically picked out by us. It was mostly Dave Matthews Band and Incubus – our favorite bands. We are HUGE Carolina fans so our tiniest touches of UNC in our wedding were amazing.
What is your favorite date night? Our favorite date night is honestly cooking dinner at home and playing with our dogs.
Do you have an advice for brides to be? My advice for brides to be is to not sweat the small stuff. I worried way too much about our guests enjoying the wedding. Remember it’s YOUR day! Do what you want and don’t worry about what other people think. In the end what other people think will not matter!
Do you have any advice for grooms to-be? Let the Bride do what she wants. Happy wife, happy life! LOL
Charlie and Katie met when they were 12 and 11 years old (respectively) through school, mutual friends, etc. They knew each other all through middle and high school, had similar friend groups, and even dated briefly in high school. When Charlie graduated high school he attended Carson Newman College on a baseball scholarship and a year later, Katie graduated and attended North Carolina State University. They lost touch for a bit, but during Katie’s sophomore year of college (Charlie’s junior year) they ran into each other while home for Christmas break. They went out for New Year’s Eve and spent time together before going back to college but, a relationship did not develop during that time. Katie found out through friends and Facebook that Charlie had enlisted in the Air Force and they lost touch again. During his most recent deployment in Afghanistan, Charlie sent Katie a message merely stating that he would be home in a month and would like to get together to catch up. He sent her another message on October 31, 2014 saying that he had returned; they went on their “first date” on November 8, 2014 (a week later) and were married almost two years after.

What was your favorite aspect of your wedding day? From the moment we started planning the wedding we both agreed that we wanted ALL of our friends and family members to have a great time; we wanted great food and a great party for everyone! During the wedding and reception and even as we’ve looked at pictures of the evening, it is obvious that everyone had a great time. It has been such a blessing to have such a wonderful support system!
What is your favorite date night? Trying a new restaurant, bar, or activity
Do you have an advice for brides to be? So many things…..try to relax and enjoy every moment of the planning process, don’t be afraid to ask for help, and don’t be so confined by your budget that you cut corners on important items.
Do you have any advice for grooms to be? When the brides starts to panic, stay calm and never tell her to “just relax”.

What was your favorite aspect of your wedding day? I loved looking around the room at the reception seeing family and friends from all different aspects of life. It was so neat to see our families and family friends interact and enjoy each other’s company.
Jaclyn and Jason met four years ago at work…She trained him when he started his new job. The first time Jaclyn saw Jason she thought he was incredibly good looking. He apparently thought the same thing and didn’t pay much attention to what she was saying during the training session. Because of that, he had to call numerous times after training to ask questions about work and that was when they started talking regularly, getting to know each other and falling for each other. At their annual company meeting, they had their first kiss by the ocean. For the next year, they dated remotely. Jaclyn lived in Miami and Jason lived in Charlotte. Their relationship continued to grow. After a year, Jaclyn decided to move to Charlotte to be with Jason and three years later they were married!
Where/When was your wedding? We were married June 11, 2016 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Our ceremony and reception were held at The Venue Fort Lauderdale.
Where did you honeymoon? Jamaica!!! He planned the entire trip and surprised me with it right before our wedding!
What’s your favorite memory from your wedding? The ceremony – I remember looking into my husband’s eyes and feeling so much love and happiness. Another favorite was dancing all night with my family and closest friends.
What advice could you offer to brides currently planning their wedding? Remember that this is a celebration and at the end of the day everyone is there to celebrate YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND! Don’t worry about the little details – in the end all everyone remembers is how much fun they had with the bride and groom!
What has been the best source of support and encouragement for you all? Our families (my sister in particular who was also the Maid of Honor)
What are some hopes or dreams you have for your family’s future? I look forward to having a child and seeing my husband’s sons grow up. I look forward to growing old with my husband – sitting by the water enjoying each other’s company.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given about marriage? Never go to sleep angry – always say “I love you” and give your spouse a kiss every night.
