Cory and Lauren were first introduced in February of 2016 at the Kilted Buffalo Langtree. They had mutual friends who thought they would be perfect for each other. It turns out, they were right! Ever since Cory and Lauren’s first date, they have been inseparable. Now, they have been together almost two years. Lauren has stated that it is weird to remember life before Cory, because he is her true soulmate.
After lots of planning, Cory popped the question around Christmastime last year. He had the day planned hour by hour, making sure all the details were perfect. Cory and Lauren just bought their first home, and they wanted to show his parents because they were in town visiting. After driving to the model home and “waiting for the realtor”, Cory got down on one knee! He even made sure to hire a photographer so that the joy of the moment was fully captured. Afterward, the night was spent celebrating with friends and family at a surprise engagement party. Cory, way to go!
On September 30th, 2017, the two became one at the exquisite Johnson Carriage House. Cory and Lauren had their first dance to Sister Hazel’s “This kind of love”. When it came down to deciding what to have their first dance to, they narrowed it down to three good options. The Sister Hazel song just seemed so fitting though because it has always been one of Lauren’s favorite bands. As for the bride’s day-of-look, Lauren chose a stunning sheath gown by Kitty Chen. The gown featured hand sewn pearl and rhinestone embellishment throughout the lace. Our favorite part of her dress was the breathtaking illusion back. What is more to love besides buttons and beadwork??
Lauren has said her favorite aspect of the big day was the almost unreal feeling of being surrounded by all of your favorite people at one time. Another memory from the big day was walking through the pastures post-ceremony with Cory. Lauren grew up riding horses, so getting to pet them with your new husband on your wedding day is something that is never to be forgotten. Her mother was her matron-of-honor, and Cory’s father was his best man, making the day just a little more special and intimate.
As for after-wedding celebrations, the newlyweds honeymooned at the Sandals’ LaSource Grenada Resort. They spent time relaxing, as well as soaking in the fact that they were just married. Just now settled into marriage, Cory and Lauren spend time hiking with their fur babies, or going to local breweries.
Lauren, you looked simply breathtaking! We are so happy to be a part of your story. Thank you for letting us share it <3
Marilyn and Brian are your typical nerdy, technologically savvy couple. Marilyn, originally from Monterrey, Mexico, studied software engineering and was sent to Charlotte on an IT project where she later met Brian. He is from Virginia, and studies Computer Science at UNC. On July 11th 2015, the couple met at a party at Whiskey River in Uptown Charlotte. From then on, the two were inseparable. Two months later, Marilyn went back to Mexico and returned with her daughter, Annie. All three moved into her apartment in Plaza Midwood.
On May 5th, Brian suggested that they go for a run in Freedom Park trails. Once on the trails, Brian surprised Marilyn by getting down on one knee! He proposed with his mother’s engagement ring, making it even more sentimental. Not wasting any time, the two married the very next day!! Not to worry though, they planned on having another big wedding, where Brian can finally meet all of Marilyn’s family. Over the next couple months, the couple spent their time wedding planning, even buying their first home together.
Marilyn always dreamt of getting married on the beach. When her mother-in-law suggested Folly Beach, South Carolina, she knew it was the perfect spot! All of Marilyn’s family traveled from Mexico to South Carolina to help the couple celebrate. They were married on July 11th, 2017, exactly two years after they began dating.
As for the bride’s day-of look, she wore a stunning Signature Justin Alexander gown. It was a silk dupoin A-line gown that effortlessly complimented Marilyn’s figure. The bodice and back of the train featured decorative hand-sewn crystals and beadwork.
One aspect of Brian and Marilyn’s wedding that we adore is the emphasis on tradition and what made the couple special. The ceremony featured Mexican wedding traditions like “The Arras Rite, as well as a sentimental sand ceremony including her daughter. Keeping some aspects true to what they love, the two traded Star Wars themed rings. As for Marilyn’s something old, she wore her mother’s wedding bracelet. Her something new was a gorgeous sapphire necklace from Brian that flattered the sweetheart neckline of her gown. Her something borrowed was a traditional British Sixpence from her mother-in-law.
After a heartfelt ceremony, the couple celebrated at a funky, retro style reception. They had their first dance as husband and wife to Frank Sinatra’s “Strangers in the Night.” Everyone enjoyed finally being together as one big family from Mexico, Virginia, and everywhere in between. They played traditional Mexican wedding games like “La vivora de la mar” and “El Muertito.” Brian said his favorite part of the wedding day was how much fun they had at the reception. They spent their first “mini-moon” with friends and family at Folly Beach. Brian and Marilyn plan to later honeymoon in either Tokyo or Italy. We want to come!!
Now settled into marriage, they enjoy ordering pizza, playing videogames, or watching sci-fi movies. As for advice to future brides, Marilyn has emphasized the importance of getting professional photographers and videographers. After all, who would not want to live their wedding day over??
Marilyn and Brian, thank you so much for including us in your fairytale! Everything turned out beautifully <3
Kayla and Brad’s adventure began when they were both studying at Wingate University. Although they were friends throughout the undergraduate years, they did not begin dating until after graduation. Kayla says that she knew Brad was the one on their very first date, considering it lasted almost 8 hours long! After three years of dating, Brad popped the question as they strolled down the beach on Sullivan’s Island.
On June 24, 2017, the pair was united as one at Matthews Presbyterian Church. Afterward, they celebrated with friends and family at the Rolling Hill Farm. The bride wore a stunning Stella York strapless gown that featured a flirty sweetheart neckline with vintage scalloped lace edging. We love how the vertical lace pattern naturally slims and elongates the bodice of this dress. Kayla paired a corded edged cathedral veil for the perfect finishing touch.
As for the first dance, the couple knew they wanted something different and unexpected. Kayla grew up listening to Frank Sinatra with her grandparents, and Brad was a fan as well. With that being said, they shared their first dance as husband and wife to Frank Sinatra’s “More”. How perfect! Kayla’s favorite aspect of the big day was their exchanging of rings. “It is a moment you dream about your entire life, and when it is finally your turn, it is almost a surreal feeling.” Their ring ceremony almost did not go as planned. It turns out Kayla’s bridesmaid who was in charge of the groom’s ring forgot the ring in the bridal suite! As sneaky as possible, the bridesmaids passed the message down to the last bridesmaid in line, and she quickly ran back and retrieved it just in time. The entire time, Kayla had no idea this was going on!
Kayla and Brad honeymooned on the gorgeous island of St. Lucia. She has said that one big piece of advice for brides-to-be is to plan one day in between your wedding and honeymoon to relax. This way, you can soak in everything that is happening and enjoy it to the fullest. Now settled into marriage, they enjoy going out to new restaurants. They currently live in Matthews, North Carolina, where Kayla is working in admissions at Wingate and Brad is working for Ryan Homes.
Kayla, you made an absolutely stunning bride! We are so happy we got to be a part of your big day. Thank you so much for letting us share your Poffie story! <3
Kelsey and Brandon met when they were both in college, enrolled at Appalachian State University. They both lived in the same dorm, on the same floor, and ran with the same circle of friends. Brandon quickly turned on the southern charm, and wowed Kelsey to the point where she couldn’t turn him down! The rest was history.
After dating, Brandon popped the question on the serene edge of Lake Norman in May of 2015. The couple was married on September 9th, 2016 at the Providence Cotton Mill in Maiden, North Carolina. They had their first dance as husband and wife to Corey Smith’s “Blow Me Away”. When Brandon and Kelsey were studying at App State, they would always attend Corey Smith concerts when he was in town, so choosing him for the first dance was perfect!
Kelsey looked stunning in her two piece wedding gown by Lillian West. We loved the sweetheart neckline on her. The gown featured hand-sewn Sabrina lace, with an added on Bolero jacket. Kelsey paired the jacket for the ceremony, and removed it for the reception. Two different looks in one dress!
Once the wedding was over, Brandon and Kelsey’s families both declared that the two “threw a party, and a wedding happened as well”. You know a good time was had by all with that comment!
After the big day, Brandon and Kelsey took the tropical route and honeymooned in the Dominican Republic. As for advice for future brides-to-be, Kelsey feels it is very important to make sure the groom has a voice in the planning process. It is his wedding as well!
Kelsey, we are so happy to be a part of your wedding story! You truly made the most beautiful bride!! Thank you for letting us feature you

Tiffany and Justin’s story began in 2009 when they were both in college. The two were in the same circle of friends, but never really approached each other. Years went by with no communication. Tiffany turned to a dating website in 2014 and a familiar face caught her eye. She knew she recognized his handsome face but just could not place him. After some healthy Facebook stalking, Tiffany realized who he was. They quickly exchanged numbers, and had their first official date on December 26th 2014. Funny the way things happen- as it turns out, Tiffany and Justin used to play across the street from each other growing up. Now, the couple lives in the same house Justin used to play in. It is all about perfect timing!
The pair was engaged on a perfect fall day in October of 2016. While spending time with their dog’s at home, Justin suggested they go enjoy the weather on their back porch. As soon as they got situated outside, Justin knelt down and popped the big question! What a simple, yet intimate engagement.
On May 5th, 2017, Tiffany and Justin were married at The Big Chill in Charlotte, North Carolina. They shared their first dance together as husband and wife to Chris Young’s “Who I Am With You”. Tiffany shined in a strapless fit and flare gown by Maggie Sottero. The dreamy lace and tulle combination was accented with a timeless sweetheart neckline. Tiffany decided to pair her Kitty Chen belt with the gown, emphasizing her figure even more. For the ceremony, she wore a fingertip length veil that featured rhinestone and pearl edging.
Tiffany has said that her one of her favorite part’s of the big day was when the couple was announced at the reception. They were hiding behind a curtain and then revealed to their guests. As for advice to future brides-to-be, Tiffany stated that one of the most important areas to invest your money in for the wedding is by getting a videographer. You can look back at pictures all day but you will never get to experience your first dance, or your first toast as husband and wife. The videographer also is a great way to capture moments that may have been missed due to the big day happening so fast!
The couple actually has not taken their honeymoon yet because they got some very exciting news right after the wedding: They are expecting their first child!!! What an amazing surprise. Nowadays, they have been trying to relax as much as possible as they prepare for their newest adventure. For fun, they enjoy going on sushi dates and coming home to snuggle their “fur” babies. Tiffany and Justin, thank you so much for letting us feature you! Cheers to what the future holds!
